So we pretty much got a borderline B, receiving a scoreof 3.94/5. Not the most impressive score, and we have learned a bit from this. I got a pretty detailed summary of what we needed to improve on for the next presentation.
Things to improve:
-Diagrams. If anybody is good with computer generated diagrams, we could even start learning about them/ working on it now. We need to find a way to more clearly communicate out good ideas.
-All of the judges commented about our unclear sensors concepts, but I believe that was cleared up at our last meeting.
-A few comments were also made (I think one was on Professor Cumings's scoresheet) about our propulsion and turning systems. I don't know too much about what's going on there, but we should probably reevaluate our ideas. I can definitely picture it working, but lets just be sure. Plus it wouldn,t be too hard to change if we build the hovercraft and it isn't efficient enough (just remounting the fans... right?).
-Finally we should make greater use of formulae and calculations to back up our ideas.
If we can hammer out all of these details, then i think that we can get the top scores for next presentation!
Also I would like for the happenings in this weeks subgoup meeting to be posted on the blog!
Remember, Deck and Lift address fans and double check the materials.
Power and Propulsion fans and batteries
Sensors and Controls refer to Cody's post below.
Thanks!

Our next presentation is 5% I believe, and the report due the next day is 10%. Next meeting should focus on developing a DEFINITE list of materials and dimensions and stuff, and deciding who's going to present and who's going to write the report and all. It may be long, but we need to get this stuff done. I think we should try to meet an hour or so early for those who can make it, then those who cant till 5 will arrive when they can and we can make the group decisions. We don't need 10 people to have one person tell us what fan they decided to use, so lets try to get a head start so we aren't switching rooms to keep our meeting going.
